At Second Dems, our mission is to secure and strengthen democracy within Illinois 2nd Congressional  District. We are dedicated to empowering our diverse and expansive community. Our grassroots organization works tirelessly to ensure that every voice is heard and that elected officials can effectively serve all constituents.

We organize, plan, and implement a variety of programs and events designed to educate and train the voting public, expand our volunteer base, and increase community engagement and outreach. Our proactive and collaborative efforts aim to grow the Democratic Party presence and impact in the district.

• Community Engagement Committee: Engages with communities within Illinois 2nd Congressional District to foster relationships, address concerns, and promote civic engagement through outreach initiatives and events.
• Training Committee: Develops and conducts educational events and workshops aimed at equipping our community with the knowledge and skills needed for effective political engagement and advocacy.
• Volunteer Committee: Recruits, organizes, and supports volunteers who play a vital role in implementing Second Dems initiatives, events, and community outreach efforts.
• Fundraising Committee: Plans and executes strategies to secure financial resources necessary for sustaining and expanding Second Dems activities, programs, and outreach efforts within the district.
• Communication & Branding Committee: Develops and implements strategies to enhance the visibility, messaging, and public image of Second Dems, ensuring consistent and effective communication of the organization mission and values to the community and beyond.
